by Alejandro on September 5th, 2018
No Joke, millions and millions of individuals want to be the next "big-time thing" in poker, but here is a short rundown on four of the more noteworthy "charming guys" of the game. Even though "nice" is connected with their names when you are playing them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have put you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In 2004, his tourney winnings amounted to more than $4.4 million and he attained two highly respected awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel even still has the humility to talk to his fans about how they could improve their own game.
Howard Lederer
Referred to as "The Professor" and sibling of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His accomplishments have allowed him to make an educational video called "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of 2005, his complete life time winnings surpass 2.7 million dollars.
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty is 1 of the busiest players in professional poker and between 2000 to 2004 he finished in the money in more than one hundred tournaments. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" during poker games and also credited with the phrase "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad beat. As of 2006, his career winnings are just about 6 million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has won five WSOP titles with two of his wins happening in 2003. Chris has the nickname "Jesus" as a result of his trademark long hair and beard, that, and along with his ability to throw playing cards fast enough to cut through bananas and pickles. As of Two Thousand and Five his total poker tourney earnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
