I have been playing poker now for about 5 years, I’ve bet cards my entire life starting with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various forms of Brag and general random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so beautifully called, card on head game. I used to often win, whatever game we were playing and even though I liked to call it skill, it was incredibly tough to warrant considering the randomness of the games we were playing, so I was happy to accept I was having a prolonged run of good fortune.

Then came Poker, or additional importantly Holdem Poker, made popular by a bunch of Texas card players in the 60’s and since grown into one of the largest card phenomena ever observed. Poker is totally the new black, it truly is uber awesome with several of the world’s top stars racing to have their name associated with it. Just a quick scan through the TV channels these days and you’ll be able to not escape from poker, and of course there is the fabled WSOP, the Holy Grail and Mecca all combined into one for every single player.

So with all of this new discovered recognition, with so several Television shows devoted to poker, and magazine and book shelves filled up with high quality material written by the foremost minds on poker, when are folks going to learn that this casino game is all about position!?

Perhaps I need to not receive so worked up about this, after all the more folks who wrestle with the delicate techniques and strategies needed for succeeding consistently at Hold em, the far better it can be for everyone else, correct?
