Poker Calculator Announcement: Hold’em Pirate … Hold em Hawk Barred by Poker Stars

by Alejandro on January 7th, 2011

Since the Party Poker fall a few years ago, Poker Stars has emerged as the undeniable leader in sheer quantities of web based poker players. They’ve the biggest tournaments, the most lively tables, the largest cash games, along with the fastest filling up sit down and go tournaments on-line. With that comes power – the power to pick your associates, web marketers, and more to our point; appropriate computer software.

Long have I been advocating Holdem Hawk and Holdem Pirate (they are really the exact same) poker calculators as simple to use and visibly desirable poker calculators. Recently though, these products have pushed the limits of suitable use, at least in the view of Poker Stars, and consequently have been prohibited from use on that web site. This is unfortunate news, as a reasonable product, not unlike several of the acceptable software permitted by Stars, is now essentially grounded because the largest poker web site on the planet thinks it is too closely associated to an Operative Poker Calculator.

An Operative Poker Calculator is just like a secret agent operating for you, collecting and digging through player facts that you can use on them down the road. The thing is, you do not have to be at the table for this to occur. The software program (database) is working all the time for you. For the majority of poker internet sites, that is over the line of justness, just as in actual life as well.

Except Hold em Pirate and Hold em Hawk are in fact Empirical Poker Calculators, just the exact same as Hold em Indicator is. These types of poker calculators only accumulate details on your competitors when you are at the table, just like you were playing in a live situation.

So why the Poker Stars Smack? Here is an authentic forewarning I was sent from Poker Stars while running Holdem Pirate:

Following a review of your account, we find that you are using an external program knownas Poker Sherlock, or its related software, Poker Edge, PokerBotPro, Holdem Hawk and Hold em Pirate……PokerStars shall be permitted to take such action as it sees fit, such as instantly blocking entry to the Games to such User, terminating such User’s account with PokerStars and seizing all funds held in the relevant Poker Stars "actual money account".

Hey, did you notice the "seizing all money" line? That is what you can do when you are this large!

The "related applications" is the origin of the difficulty. The organization that designed Hawk and Pirate also produce Poker Edge and PokerBotPro, which are data miners. In fact, I believe that Stars suspects Hawk and Pirate truly mine data for these similar products, although appearing like an Empirical Poker Calculator on the surface.

So therein sits the crux of the dilemma. Should you take place to wager on on Stars and have Hawk or Pirate, you are out of luck, as I have attempted to reverse this ruling. I got a well mannered reply from the employees at Poker Stars, but definitely, it’s not likely to change. The great news though is that Hold em Indicator has been added to Poker Stars suitable computer software list, and it’s the only empirical calculator to be authorized by them.
