Poker Aces – the right way to play them

Poker Aces references two aces dealt pre-flop. It’s the best possible before theflop hand inTexas Holdem Poker. But regardless a good many bettors find themselves on the losing end when given this hand.

When you are given a set of Aces, you just do not drop out before theflop. You’re sitting with the best possible hand at this stage of the game. So how do you wager with Poker Aces ? Do you simply go all-in? I’d say definitely no to that.

Bear in mind, you are attempting to acquire as much profit from this strong position. You want to maximise the opportunity. Going all-in will actually scare most competitors into dropping out without making a wager.

If you are in the early seat (1st or second to bet), you will place a single wager. Any person with good cards will call, with hope somebody will raise. If someone has made a raise don’t hop to re-raise or call, wait for a short while – make them think you’re considering your options and then call.

After the flop your plan will be to eliminate any player that could be able to get a straight or a flush. So I would start to raise aggressively, if you’re fortunate you will trick 1 player into thinking that you’re faking it.

If you’re in the middle or later spot (one of the last to cast a bet) you’ll watch as every player calls and then raise. Even with you sitting with a pair of aces, if possible try to abstain from a show-down. Guard your hand by forcing the other players drop out after the flop. If you don’t abolish your competition you risk squandering your hand.
