4 of Poker’s Nice Players
by Alejandro on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021
Literally millions and millions of players strive to be the next "big thing" in poker, but here is a short rundown on four of the more famous "great pros" of poker. Despite the fact that "nice" is connected with their names when you are sitting accross the table from them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have removed you out of the game!
Daniel Negreanu
In 2004, his tournament earnings amounted to more than $4.4 million and he came away with 2 highly admired awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In February 2006 he was appointed Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. He even still has the humility to speak with his fans about how they could improve their own game.
Howard Lederer
Referred to as "The Professor" and sibling of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His success has allowed him to make an educational poker video called "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also holding a tournament poker show for Fox. As of 2005, his total life winnings exceed $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scott is 1 of the busiest players in poker and from Two Thousand to Two Thousand and Four he placed in the money in well over one hundred tournaments. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" during poker games and also coined the term "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a exceptionally bad beat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his career winnings are just about six million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has captured 5 WSOP titles with 2 of his wins coming in 2003. Chris has the nickname "Jesus" as a result of his trademark long hair and beard, and is able to throw cards fast enough to cut through bananas and pickles. As of 2005 his total live poker tourney earnings exceeded five million dollars.
